Sky Diving
Unfortunately we have had to postpone the parachute jump. Deion has a long awaited hospital appointment, and that has to come first. We will be rearranging and will let everyone know in plenty of time.
For our next fundraising event, I will be bravely/stupidly throwing myself out of an airplane at about 20,000 feet with the red devils parachute regiment freefall team.
I'm looking forward to it, but my husband is desparately trying to find me compehensive life insurance that covers sky diving (good luck!) and my mum is doing the sign of the cross every time I enter the room.
Everyone is more than welcome to come and watch me splat into the ground should my parachute fail to open (don't tell mum I said that).
It will be in Salisbury on September 11th.
Bring a packed lunch, and possibly a valium for my mum!
So, I'll see you there, I'll be the miniscule dot high above you screaming very loudly.
How you can help us fund-raise
There are many ways in which you can help us fund raise to send more families to swim with the dolphins, but don't worry; they don't have to be as mad as some of the things we have done in the past. Local schools have got involved in sponsored events and rummage sales, and if you know any small business that would be happy to donate prizes e.t.c for raffles and events, then let us know.
We have someone doing 'The Great North Run' for us on the 30th September 2007. That's thirteen point one miles. If you would like to sponsor Jack and the charity, then please contact us via the web-site and we will let him know as the sponsors come in, bravery like that deserves a reward. We will definitely make sure that afterwards we post some photos of him running and then crossing the finish line...in one piece with any luck!
WELL DONE JACK AND THANK YOU! OVER £1000 HAS BEEN RAISED SO FAR!
Fundraising we've done in the past
Pub Crawling !

Here is a rather embarrassing picture of a group of us doing a fancy dress pub crawl to raise money (all in the name of charity I promise). We raised several hundred pounds after visiting about ten pubs in the Lewisham and Bromley area (and I'm sure the success we had was nothing to do with the short skirts we were all wearing at the time!!) The proceeds went to help a little girl called Danielle go off to swim with the dolphins in Australia. That's Danielle's Mum on the Left, and her Nan second from the right.
Bungee Jumping
Here are a couple of pictures of me throwing myself out of a crane that happened to be 300 foot up in the air. Not one for the light hearted among us. Although this was only the first bungee jump I did, along with eleven other mad people, including two of my brothers (you can imagine how pleased my Mum was, she was far more nervous than we were!). I went on to do an even higher one the following year to help another child and her family go on a dolphin swimming and their dream holiday.
If you know of any bungee jumps (properly organised and registered ones only please) that are over four hundred feet high I would love to know about it. It's a dare I have been given, and I never ever back down on a challenge.
In fact I know a whole bunch of mad people who are up for just about anything daring, death defying and really really stupid! So let us know if you have any great (mad) ideas of things for us to try and we will do our best.
Head Shaving
And here are a couple of photos of probably the most daring thing I have done to date......shaving my head! I think you'll agree that it is not really a good look for me!! But seven of us did this in the end and we raised a lot of money, so it was worth it (just!)!! although if I ever do it again it wont be in the middle of winter, it was December here and snowing, honestly, what on earth were we thinking??
